Happy Fathers Day (More like a post about Genting and Bukit Bintang)

Greetings to you from the lobby of Grand Pacific. Haha. What a weird way to start my post today. Well, today was Fathers Day of course but we didn't celebrate it. My family went to Genting Highlands and lemme tell you, it was awesome! But daddy was not a fan of it though; so today was more like Children's Day. Ngee ><

The cable car was packed with people till we have to wait for about an hour before we could go up. The journey up was amazing too. It was like a journey up into heaven *perasan mau pegi syurga* Genting Skyways cost only RM10 and its much much much safer then using the bus where you gamble your life on the steep slopes.

There, I went to the arcade and played some games. The token there was darn expensive too. RM15 for 15 credits- the nice thing is they give you in the form of cards where you would swipe the cards each time you want to play a game. Each game costs about 4 tokens and my aunt bought 3 cards including RM5 deposit for each card. So...

15x3= RM45
5x3=RM15
45+15= RM60
Rm60 spent on games alone, and i only played two rounds of those racing games and two hits at the "strength-machine-thingymajingo". Like any other large arcades, there are coupons and I only got 13. Haha, only 13. Other people got like thousands and one tiny chinese kid had like a bundle of them. Lord knows how did they got so good at playing games.

The indoor theme park was okay. There were not many rides unlike the outdoor park which we didn't go cause it was very foggy. There are many kiddy rides there and most of them were sloooooow. That's no fun aite? Nevermind, we are planning to to Sunway these few days. So fun rides here we come!

Nightime, we had dinner at Jalan Alor. The food was delicious. So does the price. A plate of wantan mee costs RM5.50! I know some of you Western Sem. readers are like 'ala, mane de. besa la tu. kl' but that aint how we do it in Kuching. In Kota Padawan(batu 10), a plate of wantan is only RM2.80. Nyahh kau. At Bukit Bintang we saw many glitzy malls and street peformers. Too bad we didn't go to Pavilion cause it was too late. Harapharap can go tomorrow. AMEN.

Okie dokie, I guess this is all on my fathers day post. No so father-friendly isn't it? Well, tomorrow I'll be going to KLCC and hopefully Pavilion after daddy's convo. Happy Graduation Daddy!! :D

p/s: pictures will be posted tomorrow. check out tomorrow for pictures. besar gile vavi file die. dah klaka kl ku tok eh. cantekk ==*

Lemonade Mouth

Hey peeps! Just now I watched Disney's New movie called Lemonade Mouth and it was awesome! Move over Camp Rock! Haha. Okay so lemonade mouth  tells the story of five high school students who meet in detention and form a band to stand up for their beliefs and to overcome their individual and collective struggles *thank you wikipedia*

Bridgit Mendler stars as Olivia, the lead singer of the band. Her mom died and her dad is in prison. You night know her as Teddy from Good Luck Charlie and Justin's vampire gf at WOWP

Adam Hicks as Wen. He is the love interest of Olivia and who knew he could sing and rap!

Hayley Kiyoko as Stella. She is rebellious and comes from a genius family.

Naomi Scott as Mo. She plays an Indian but turns out shes actually British!

Blake Micheal as Charlie. He plays the drums.

Sabah, imy :(

I seriously need to go for a vacation. Wait, im goin to KL on the 16, so that counts ( i think). But when asked what is my favorite travel destination,I would answer Sabah.

Why? Because Sabah has hands down one of the most beautiful oceans and mountains in the world. Second, I was born in Sabah- Semporna  to be exact. My dad calls me 'Bajau Boy' when he's with his Sabahan friends. He also worked in Sabah early in his carrier life. No wonder we go there ever two years for a trip. You can never get enough of it. This tradition started in 2007 where we went there by car up till Semporna, by birth place. Yep, Kuching--> Semporna by car. It took us a full 3 days. But this trip was not fun in the sun. Turns out that my name is not registered. Although I have a birth cert, its not valid. WTH +.+ yea. I've been living as an illegal citizen for the first 11 years of my life. Luckily this is not uncommon for births in Sabah in the 90's

view from hotel

The last time  I went there was in 2009. This time we flew there- in a plane ofc- KK was like so much more developed than Kuching. They have Burger King, awesome public transportation and only the largest mall in borneo, 1Borneo Megamall!! I went there and it took me an average of 2 hours per floor to explore! Not only that, the malls are literally next to each other! Unlike in Kuching where malls are too far for you to walk from each other. KK also has a packed city centre. Like everything is there, you can just walk everywhere.

The best part of KK though is that you can see the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park from the city. Its only 15 minutes boat ride from the jetty and it costs you about 15-80 ringgit, depending on how many islands you decide to go. There is Pulau Gaya, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Sapi, well thats all I could remember. There, the waters are crystal clear and you can see colorful fishes. You even get to feed them.

Other than its oceans, Sabah is also famous for Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in South East Asia. The weather there is chilly, it feels like the aircon is turned on. There are even strawberry, cabbage and carrot farms out there. My mum's friend also told us that you can go up there and take a picture of yourself at one of the flower gardens and bulak to other people that you actually went to europe. Hehe

Yup, I miss Sabah very much. Fortunately my dad says he's taking us to Sipadan/Mabul next year. Yipee! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

GaGa: Love or HATE?

Stefani Germanotta, widely known as Lady Gaga is an American singer/songwriter. She released top songs such as Just Dance, Pokerface, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, Born This Way and most recently, The Edge of Glory.

I'm not really a fan of Gaga, nor I'm a hater. For me, Gaga is just another singer, a mere speck of dust in this vast universe, a famous, chart-topping, butt-kicking speck of dust that is. My dad calls her Lady "Gagak", not because he hates her; he just doesn't know gaga has no K at the end. Some people, however go to the extremes like worshiping her and does the gaga pose (god knows how it is) and post them on facebook and stuffs. Worse still, they even change their names to lady gaga or (insert name) germanotta on facebook. Get a life people. You don't see me being Jurleo Bieber or Jurleo Belieber Forever <3 don't you?

Enough with the crap, lets get down to business. Here are reasons why  I love and hate lady Gaga:

Why I love gaga

1. She is unique- she is her very own and no one can tell her 'owh, you look like cher/madonna/britney spears!'

2. She writes killer good songs- Songs like Pokerface and Edge of Glory made me a fan of gaga. Her music is unique and fresh and makes people crank the volume up and just have a good time.

3. She makes britney look like a piece of DooDoo- Move over Britney!

Why I hate her

1. I believe she is antichrist.

2. She wears underwear while performing- I know you are Born This Way but nobody wants to see boobies and butts. (i know who does)

3. She can be very 'unique' at times- meat dress? arriving in an eggshell? Doesn't that scream ATTENTION WHORE to you? And don't get me started on those crazy outfits she puts on.  Alexander mcQueen must be so proud.

4. She changed. A LOT. If she was still the pokerface and just dance Gaga, I would so be Leo Germanotta right now. Lady Gaga changed from being a singer to a eccentrically-dressed singer to a fake-ur-death-onstage singer and lastly to a eggshell dwelling singer. What's next? No one can tell.

5. She calls her fans Little Monsters and she is the Mother Monster- I don't want to be anybody's monster, okay?

6. She's creepy.

Conclusion: I know, I know. Who am I to judge her. I am just a mere speck of dust in the vast universe, a far less famous, less butt-kicking dust. She can do whatever she wants, its her life not mine. But what I do have is the right to voice out my opinion and I'm pretty sure that's not illegal. So gaga, all the best. :)

Nice Guys

As I've said it and I will say it again, I *insert heart* Youtube. Just now I heard this awesome new song by Kev Jumba, Ryan Higa and this guy named Chester See. I've watched and subscribed to Kev and Ryan, so I can bet you my butt this song aint gonna be serious. Here it is:

Chester See's version, in my opinion is the best. Although you can check out Ryan and Kev's version on youtube.

Lyrics:

Chester See, Kevjumba & Ryan Higa – Nice Guys Lyrics
Nice guys finish last that’s why I’ll treat you like trash
It’s not what I really want to do
but you only date bad guys so I’ll give him my best try
To treat you the way you want me to
[rap verse]
I never open the door or pull out a chair
You can tell me how your day was but I don’t really care
and if you ever get cold, you’ll just have to hack it
cause I’d be cold too if I gave you my jacket
like whoa!
you ain’t sitting up front
front is for the homies you can sit in the trunk
I never answer my phone whenever you call it
and when the waiter brings out the bill, I never reach for my wallet
Nice guys finish last that’s why I’ll treat you like trash
It’s not what I really want to do
but you only date bad guys so I’ll give him my best try
To treat you the way you want me to
and Imma beat you in every competition
going out with the girls you better get my permission
wait no! I take that back you can’t go
house starts tonight and that’s my favorite show
Do I look fat in this dress?
Hell yeah! You do!
Wait let me speak your language
Cows go mooo, mooo, mooo, mooo, mooo
Nice guys finish last that’s why I’ll treat you like trash
It’s not what I really want to do
Oh.. You only date bad guys so I’ll give him my best try
To treat you the way you want me to
but behind the scenes, she means the world to me
I wanna tell her that she’s beautiful
and show her that she’s in love
hold her hand when she’s scared
tell her how much I care
but that won’t win her heart because….
Nice guys finish last that’s why I’ll treat you like trash
Not what I really want to do
Oh.. You only date bad guys so I’ll give him my best try
To treat you the way you want me to
Ho!

We The Present Generation :)

FYI, title is just random. TEEHEE. Today I wanna write about how thankful I am for living in a modern world. As you all some of you may know, I am a Bidayuh, 100 percent. ~iklan: bidayuhs are a tribe living in Kuching, Sarawak, the nnorthern part of Borneo. Bidayuhs are Christians although a very small minority still remain pagan.~ My mom is from Penrissen while my dad is from Padawan.(google for more info pls tq :D)

Although we are Christians; Anglicans to be exact- my dad was not born a Christian. He was a pagan, along with all of the other villagers at Kampung Sadir, Padawan. Well, that was in the early 70's. So last night, while we were on our way back from kampung, my dad told us about his childhood and gawai celebrations. Here it goes:

"When my dad was little, he stayed in a longhouse. Last time, people from different areas were enemies. He said once, some people from Kalimantan, Indonesia attacked their village. Well, they were robbers and the village chief will shoot his gun in the air to signal that there's danger. Everyone went in and locked the doors and windows. The women and children went to hiding while the men took turns to guard the tanju. My dad said the Indonesians were also headhunters, meaning they came to look for heads. (Anyone who had brought back a head was considered a warrior back then) Imagine how terrifying it was for them back then. Well, the longhouse was even equipped with an escape hole just in case those bad people managed to get in. ~Talk about security huh.~ Fortunately, noting major happened and my dad was still alive to tell this story." :)

Moral of story: We as Malaysians should be thankful that we live in a peaceful and harmonious country-
p/s: SCREW THAT KOLO MEE RULES!! WOOOT WOOT
p/p/s: nah, this storys got no moral value.
super p/s: eh, got la. " Be Thankful For What We Have"
