Kota Kinabalu

:D Spesel? Apa yang speselnya? Well, kemungkinan tahun depan naik Gunung Kinabau! Bukan itu saja, pigiPulau Mabul sekali! Ish, dahla tak pandai berenang ada hati nak pergi Mabul. -.-' Kalau nasib baik, bolehla pergi Sipadan sekali.yay!

Christmas

What does Christmas means to you? Well for me it means a time for all to get together and have a jolly good time. My parents, my dad especially has a very big family. Most of them are staying abroad so Christmas is the time when they come to Kuching to spend Christmas time. Last time when I was a kid, I enjoyed Christmas very much. Now I do still enjoy it but I noticed that nowadays there's not much Christmas spirit here in Kuching compared to major cities such as KL or Singapore.

Speaking of Christmas spirit, people tend to think that Christmas is all bout giving and receiving presents and holidays sales and whatnot. They forgot that the true meaning of Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus. Fun fact: no one knows when Jesus was born. Christmas was originally a pagan festival celebrated in somewhere, somewhere. When Christianity came, they turned the celebration into Christmas instead. That means you can celebrate Christmas everyday! yipee!

p/s: why do people always say x'mas all the time? it annoys me cause they're taking the christ out of chritmas and putting a freking X in it. -.-' its like making lemonade without lemons and calling it x'nade. gosh im soo sleepy now :) bye

Choral Speaking

Hmm... Apahal aku tetiba rindu nak choral speaking ohh? :/ Cuti ni dah macam-macam benda aku nak. Nak belajar pun ada, nak pegi jalan-jalan pun ada, sekarang ni nak choral speaking? Adoyai. Mungkin dah banyak kenangan pahit manis yang ditempuhi bersama. Walaupun masa aku join choral speaking ni, tak pernah jadi juara tapi memang best lah. Hehe

First time aku join choral speaking masa aku Form 1. Masa tu budak Form 2 ada masuk kelas kami tanya siapa nak join. Tak tau la kenapa takda orang angkat tangan. Last-last aku sorang jak angkat tangan. Lepas budak Form 2 keluar, kawan semua cakap 'aku nak join jugak lah'. Tadi kenapa tak cakap? =.=' So tak silap aku the next day ada audition, kena tell about ourselves in front of the teachers. One thing lead into another, aku masuklah team choral speaking SMK Wira Penrissen. Sobsob :')

Masa aku Form 1, script dia tajuk 'Peculiar Malaysians'. memang best lah script tu. Very amusing. Competition dekat SMK Balai Ringin, jauh woo. But at least we got the award for best conductor. Masa tu memang kecewa jiwang karat berkarat-karat lah. Walaupun ada tempat tapi bukan juara. Bak kata pepatah, iPhone 4S dipinta,  iPhone 3GS diterima.

And then Form 2 takda competition. Taktaulah kenapa pulak. No budget kot :| Second competition early this year. Adoh! Hati memang dah nervous masa tu. Dahla sekolah kami last yang perform. So kami tak menang lah.

At first semua orang was-was nak join, pertandingan 2 minggu  lagi. Last-last join, start everything from scratch, script takda, movements takda. Buat script dah nak 1 minggu lepas  tu tinggal 1 minggu jak nak rehearsal. Then, jeng jeng jeng dapat 2nd place lagi. Ish, tapi masa tu kami takda pun rasa marah atau kecewa sebab kami tau memng boleh tahan orang berlatih 1 minggu dapat second place. Okla tu kan? This year cikgu ada suruh aku buat script untuk tahun depan, tapi sampai sekarang tak siap-siap. Esok lah nak mula. Hehe. Wish me luck guys :)

PS1: idk why I'm suddenly writing in BM here. Once in a while I like to stir things up you know, like when you cook, you gotta add a little variety or else no one is gonna eat you food.

PS2: maybe you have noticed that i added ads in my blog now. if you really care for me, do click those ads, its free and totally virus free unlike those "congratulations, claim your free iPad" ads. im not forcing you guys in any ways :)

Trip: Gunung Serapi

Hey blog! I'm feeling bored lately so I'll try to update this blog as frequent as possible. Maklumlah dah cuti sekarang nie. Before the school holidays, my school organized a trip to Gunung Serapi. I've always wanted to  go climb a mountain. Gunung Serapi is located in Matang, about 50% the height of Gunung Kinabalu, but it takes  only a two hours hike through a distance of 5km to reach the peak. At first I thought, "meh, apalah sangat that jalan 5km tu."

But boy I was wrong.

I expected a 5km leisurely walk through the scenic tropical rainforest while admiring the numerous species of flora and fauna but it was nothing like that. The pathways were paved too but there are any fallen leaves which means that its very slippery. I think that it'll be better if they didn't pave the pathways, more ori and less painful to walk on. It took me 1 hour 40 minutes to reach the peak and the views are very very the cantik. You can see whole of Kuching, south china sea and more mountains. Memang berbaloi lah :3

The descend was painful as the path was quite steep and your toes hurt. By that I was all tired and cursing everything. Cursed gravity for pulling everything down, cursed the leaves for dropping, cursed the path for being so steep. HAHA I'm baddd. For those who would like to go there someday, I highly recommend it. Tak rugi :)

Peace out!

Pasca PMR

Ugh, I hate myself for being a lazy bum. Damn. Well, PMR is finally over like almost a month ago and I didn't even care to update. Sorry man. HEHE. So, as I was sayin' our school had numerous of 'funducational' activities to kill th time. And by 'funducational' I mean some extremely boring talks about SPM subjects and job oppurtinities(?) I don't really mind but at age 15? Don;t they think its a tad too early for these kind of talks. Glory to the lord I don't have to hear these talks because I was in the choral speaking group! We fortunate speakers skipped the talks to attend training for the inter-class choral speaking competition held at the end of Pasca. But I was not a contestant but a trainer. It was fun being a trainer, goofin around acting all bossy. Oh well, good times.

So, Pasca Phase I has ended. Tomorrow will be Phase II or RIMUP. Students from Sg. Tapang will be coming over and many fun filled activities are going to be held. Hope those said activities are as fun as they sound.

Thats all I can write for now. Bubye :)

Are you a cat or dog person?

Well, if you ask me I'm more of a dog person. Why? I just think they are super cute. Plus, they're loyal and will protect you. Not that I'm saying cats are no good but cats in particular can be very lazy at times.

But on one faithful day, this changed. A mother cat  abandoned her litter in front of my house. There were two kittens; both orange in color and very noisy. They seem dehydrated and hungry. I think they are about 3 weeks old because their eyes and ears are opened. Now, I have to feed them every day ALL THE TIME. Yay me =.=

p/s: one of kittens-i call it Cepet died just now. :( aww kesiannya

Happy Malaysia Day

It seems that I only post when there is a holiday. Sigh. Nevertheless, Happy Malaysia Day to all Malaysians, may this country stay peaceful and prosperous forever and ever. AMEN :) Exactly 48 years ago, Malaya, North Borneo(Sabah), Sarawak and Singapore formed a country we call Malaysia. And its no walk in the park for our leaders back then. Indonesia and the Philipines opposed the formation of Malaysia. Indonesia wanted to form Melayu Raya and they were influenced by the communists. Philipines on the other hand, claims that Sabah were theirs.

Fortunately today we are all good. Still one big peaceful family, living in harmony. Although there are bumps along the way every now and often-lets not talk about that- but we all stick together through thick and thin. Aint nobody gonna seperate us Malaysians. Go Malaysia! :)

p/s: theres a parade at Waterfront 2nite and I can't go :(

Selamat Hari Raya

Hello peeps! Its been a while since I last posted something on my blog. Sorry for that ^^. Lately I've been 'studying' for the PRA-PMR exams and thank the heavenly heavens I got bolehla results. Plus, I procrastinate a lot so that's why you don't see many blog posts this year. Hihi  #actcute

Well enough of crap and lets get  to the point. Well, I'm sure everyone knows that Ramadan is almost over and Raya is coming soon. I am not a muslim but in the spirit of 1 Malaysia, I am very excited. Actually, I'm more excited because its the holidays. So, Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri to my muslim friends :) Have a blast!

p/s: on second thought, DON'T have a blast. Firecrackers are highly dangerous and don't play them no matter how awesome and cool they are. This is Public Service Announcement by J.N.J

Sugar High: Portuguese Egg Tarts

Well, lately I've been craving for some egg tarts but those available at bakeries taste very dry. So I've decided to make my own. Most of the recipes I found on the net mostly call for whipping cream but I don't have whipping cream. The tarts at bakeries are usually regular egg tarts; they actually taste boring. Very eggy. Plus, they're not sweet, which is a no-no for me. Then I found this recipe, Portuguese egg tarts and let me tell you they are YUMMY.

The first batch I made was a bit overcooked. Well, not a bit but VERY overcooked. Curses you oven hotspots. Maybe because I blind-baked it for too long too. Hee ~.~ So, recipes? Well I don't cook with recipes. But you can find a great recipe at rasamalaysia.com. The pictures make me drool too

79 Hari Lagi?

Homaigot! Betol ka ni? PMR tinggal 79 hari lagi? *panic mode* Adohai, camana ni? Preparations sejibik pun belom ready, tengoktengok dah nak PMR.

Tip #1: Jangan makan kepala, leher ayam/ikan/daging. Cikgu aku cakap, tak bagus. Taktau la pulak kenapa. Hehe

Tip #2: Jangan tidur lambat. Otak kita perlukan tidur sebab dia nak save semua benda yang dia dah proses untuk hari tu. So sebelum exam janganlah tidur lambat. Bayangkan lepas menimba ilmu, pastu ilmu tu tak sempat nak save. Kan mampos kau. Bukan ada back up lagi.

Tip #3: Ni semua orang tau la. Makan secara sihat. Kalau makan sihat, badan sihat. Kalau badan sihat, otak pun sihat. Kalau otak sihat, pandai. Kalau pandai, BERJAYA la jadinya.

Tip #4: Kalau tak paham, tanya. Bak kata pepatah, malu bertanya sesat jalan. Kalau tak paham apa ysng diajar, tanya cikgu untuk keterangan lanjut. Takda cikgu nak makan korang kalau korang tanya.

Tip#5: Speaking of friends, buat la study group. Belajar kat library kalau ada masa. Pastu kalau dah bekumpul, jangan pulak gossip pasal Kate Middleton pegi melawat LA.

Betulkah?

Tip#7: Jangan belajar.......lama sangat. Dulu, entahla sapa yang cakap, belajar setengah jam pun dah cukup. Pastu rehat la, main game ke merempit ke. Then sambung belajar. Kan otak kita macam komputer. Kalau di-on lama lama kan hang. Melainkanlah otak korang dah diupgrade pegi processor quad-core macam si Adi Putra tu. Bahahaha

Tip#8: Kalau belajar, concentrate. Cikgu mengajar jangan cakap. Baru paham. Kalau dah paham, takpayah la nak revision lama-lama. Kan? Kan? Kan?

KL Trip

Hey guys! As you know, last two weeks I went to KL for a much needed break some important business. What business? Actually, it was my dad's convocation. So why not bring the whole family along? The more the merrier ! So, off we went to KL on the 18th of June 2011. After reaching KLIA, my uncle picked us up and we went to his house for dinner. Then, we went to our hotel to have some rest. The hotel was located next to PWTC but boy don't fool around. That place is filled with crooks if you go around at night.

The next day is really where the fun begins. My aunt brought us to Genting Highlands! Yeah \m/ We spent the whole day there and spent lots of money too. The food  there was really expensive. Like really. A stick of nuggets costs RM5. Like what the hell?

After coming back from Genting, it was makan time. We headed straight to Jalan Alor, which is famous for its delicious food. Jalan Alor is actually not that big of a deal. Its a street with hawker foods. In Kuching, everywhere there's hawker food. Plus, food in KL is damn expensive. A bowl of wantan costs like RM6 and bak kut teh RM15. At this rate, its cheaper if you eat at KFC.

On the 20th was daddy's convo. We were forced to wake up early in the morning as the event started at 8am. So by 7.30 we were on our way to PWTC. The former first lady was there and she gave a speech on education *yawn*. Ok, so after that we went shopping and then shopping and shopped till we dropped! *ok, i just forgot where we went lol* But seriously, all of us bought two pairs of shoes and brought a whole bag of shoes back home.

The next day, we visited the must see place in KL, the Petronas Twin Towers. Although I went there everytime I went to KL but it just never gets old. But that day we visited PETROSAINS which at first I think was a boring place but actually very very very super duper exciting! To get in, you get on a helmet like gondola thingy which take you to another level while showing you a presentation on PETRONAS. Inside there, it was like a kids heaven! There were Formula 1 exhibits, Dinosaur exhibits, Space exhibits, science exhibits and many more. There's also a snack vending machine which I never saw in Kuching but very common in KL. If they but those things at my school, I'll be broke in no time.

After PETROSAINS(spent a good 4 hours there), it was time to go to AQUARIA. From SURIA to AQUARIA you have to walk through the pedestrian tunnel which is about 800 meters long. Its like an endless tunnel y'know! I cant remember the ticket price but the entrance fee for 3 adults and 3 children was RM150. Aquaria was like so so much better then Zoo Negara. You could see sea creatures live there and there's also a touch zone where you could touch them. But the highlight of the place was the enormous aquarium complete with a travelator(in case you dont know, a travelator is the thingy where you just stand and it moves you). I saw some mean tiger sharks there man. Then that night, we had dinner at this fancy schmancy Thai Resaturant near KLCC. Well, the dinner was on da house man cause my dad's cousin was the manager there. Nice ;)

The next day, it was Sunway Lagoon time! Yaay! Seriously, this was the highlight of the trip. We checked in at the hotel at around 2pm and headed straight for the theme park. The theme park was frikin awesome man! I spent 50% of the time playing the water slides and the rest at the amusement park. If you never been there, I highly recommend you to go! Best gila you know. That night, everyone was so frikin tired and I slept at 8pm. Didn't even take my dinner. The next morning was our last day there. Our flight was at 5pm so we had a little time on our hands. So the final destination was Sunway Pyramid for a little souvenir shopping. But lemme tell you, that mall is so huge my legs got tired walking, and I NEVER get tired walking. I even got lost there. Adoyai. There I ate the best ice cream in the world, Baskin Robbins and ate Krispy Kreme Donuts. If I had a little time (and money) for sure I'd eaten at subway and TGIF. Oh yea, I ate Burger King too. YUM :)

So, thats all for my trip. Ngee ^^
